choice statement

Conventional affirmations never worked for me as I am a born skeptic. When I say 'I am confident' when I am not in reality, a goblin inside me heckles and says "No, you are not".

But choice statement, a variation of affimations work wonders for me because it accepts and acknowledges the reality first. I learnt it from Dr.Patricia Carrington and thought of sharing it here. Even if affirmations work for you, try these choice statements. You might find surprisingly quicker results

Let us see what a choice statement is.

I like to see a Choice statement in 4 parts:

1) current status
2) Your declaration that you choose
3) Best possible outcome
4) mode of achieving (Optional)

Let us take an example. Jane is very nervous about her interview. She desparately needs a job. She is almost in a panic that all her funds are run out.

1) In the first part, she acknowledges the current status. It goes something like this:

My funds are run out and I am very nervous about my interview

2) In the second part, she simply declares that she chooses the outcome. So the 2nd part of the choice statement is:

I choose

3) The best possible outcome will be something like this:

Get a job that pays ...........$ OR Get a dream job (or add any adjective that makes you feel excited)

4) How does she want to do it?

By making this experience fun and joyful

Now, putting all the 4 parts together, she will get her choice statement:

Eventhough my funds are run out and I am very nervous about my interview, I choose to get my dream job by making this experience fun and joyful

Your choice statement should make you excited; make you beam and bubble. Add as many adjectives as you like, include as many words that bring you joy.

Dr. Carrington suggests 'I choose to feel calm & confident' as a general statement that suits any situation. You can use this when you do not know what the best possible outcome is. You can formulate your own statement as well. My general statement is:

I choose to dance with the universe and lead a joyful life

For me, dancing brings a lot of joy and universe means the ultimate power. Dancing with the ultimate power!!! Wow, what else I can choose?

It blew me away completely - yes, the 'I' in myself vanished when I was listenting to this piece of music. For me, it does not matter whether it is a mantra, chanting or just a music - as far as it touches my heart, I choose to enjoy it irrespective of what I think/believe about it. This piece of music surely touched my soul.

Kudos to the creator!

Hope you enjoy it too!
